Finding Your Voice

Dave Grohl at SXSW

Dave Grohl at SXSW

There was a speech given by Dave Grohl last year, the keynote speech at SXSW graduation. In it, he talks about his early life, the start of the Nirvana days, and their initial fame. One part that really stuck with me from it was his urging of people to find their own voice – don’t try to be someone else, your voice is yours, own it.

So it comes now I’m starting this blog (already a month and a half later than I had intended) and I don’t really know what to do it about. I don’t know what my writing style will be, let alone the theme of the content. I need to find my voice. Will I be amusing? Profound? Superficial? Will I torture and abuse the English language, bending it to my will? It’s all rather exciting, and I can’t wait to find out.

I have a few ideas for upcoming post content, however irregular it may be. Mostly it will be an exploration of whatever random thoughts pop into my head on any particular day, be it about the latest games I’m playing (er, mostly WoW and Minecraft – I used to be up to date with these things, a long time ago), the latest events in my life or maybe, *maybe* even something topical!

I suppose while I’m here, I might as well provide the link to Dave Grohl’s speech!
